Pre-school

Within our preschool room, we have our Explorers (our rising preschoolers) and our Adventurers (our preschool children).

This spacious room gives children the opportunity to be active learners exploring, experimenting and enjoying each other’s company.  Friendships are formed and life skills are developed through skilful cooperation and negotiation.  We pride ourselves in offering a unique and diverse curriculum by following children’s interests through their play ideas, which influences the daily provision, enjoying a collaborative teacher, learner role.  Daily group time, self-service snack and tea making experiences enhance and extend their learning.

The room is divided into smaller areas where the children have a range of equipment in order to be creative and imaginative.  Art work is displaying with pride as the children express themselves and become independent self-confident individuals.  Free flow is available into the generous garden and field which provides an alternative environment to play, grow and achieve.

Close supportive relationships are forged with the children and their families as we prepare throughout their time in Pre-School for the next stage in their journey.

At The Warren we work hard to promote school readiness within our preschool room. We offer a range of learning opportunities throughout every session providing periods of structured small group activities and free play. This aids children’s progress and development using an individualised approach through our knowledgeable adventurer’s key people. We provide time for the children to build on their independence skills by promoting self-confidence and resilience to give everything a go. By having strong links with the local schools, we aid transition helping to make the step into big school as smooth as possible. We support children to develop a positive attitude, where children are not afraid to make mistakes and learn from experiences. Our aim is that all children go onto school with all the skills needed to thrive and continue on their learning journey.
